Charlotte Marous MD is fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic and orbital surgeon.
Dr. Marous is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Wake Forest University, she pursued a Masters in Global Health at the University of Notre Dame followed by a medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine. She completed a transitional year at Lincoln Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, where she was recognized as intern of the year. Dr. Marous completed her ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. During her final year of residency, she was chosen to serve as the Chief Resident and was awarded with the E. Clifford Lazzaro MD Award for Excellence in Teaching as well as the SUNY Downstate Resident Advocate of the Year Award.
Dr. Marous went on to complete a highly competitive two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery through the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) at the Lions Eye Institute and Albany Medical College. At the completion of her fellowship, she was awarded the Golden Apple Faculty Teaching Award by her peers and residents.
Throughout her training Dr. Marous has participated in multiple surgical mission trips to Malaysia, Guatemala, and Vietnam. She has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and enjoys presenting her work at national society conferences. In her spare time, she loves being outside, traveling, and spending time with her very large, but close-knit, family and friends.
Dr. Marous offers specialty focused care to patients of all ages. Her philosophy revolves around individualized treatment plans and restorative, natural outcomes. She is well-equipped and excited to treat patients in all aspects of oculoplastic and orbital surgery including upper and lower eyelid rejuvenation surgery, eyelid malposition, periocular and orbital tumors, Mohs reconstruction, orbital trauma, nasolacrimal surgery, thyroid eye disease, cosmetic injectables, and more.
