Biography

Dr. Lehman has a general pediatric ophthalmology practice and teaches ophthalmology fellows, residents, and medical students. She served as Chief of Ophthalmology for 25 years at Nemours Children’s Hospital. Currently, she holds the academic position of Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, where she is also Emeritus Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs.

A graduate of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Program at Drexel University, Dr. Lehman has held prominent leadership roles, including Past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Section on Ophthalmology of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Lehman is renowned for her work in brain-based visual impairment/cerebral visual impairment, a subject on which she has published and lectured both nationally and internationally. She is one of the leading pediatric eye specialists in CVI. In addition to her work in pediatric ophthalmology in the Philadelphia region, Dr. Lehman actively advocates for children with cortical visual impairment by participating in education, scholarship, and policy initiatives on a national level.
