WILLS EYE RANKED AMONG THE BEST HOSPITALS BY U.S. NEWS AND WORLD REPORT
PHILADELPHIA, July 16, 2024 – For the 34th consecutive year, Wills Eye Hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top choice for eye care. Through its “Best Hospitals” survey, the publication annually asks ophthalmologists across the nation to choose their recommendation for patients with the most challenging ophthalmic conditions. Philadelphia’s specialty eye hospital once again received a top tier ranking in 2024.
“The continued vote of confidence from our colleagues across the country is indicative of the excellence and expertise demonstrated by the faculty and staff at Wills Eye,” said Julia A. Haller, MD, Ophthalmologist-in-Chief, Wills Eye Hospital. “Our patients and peers know to expect exceptional clinical care, research, and education from our doctors. We are honored to once again be selected as among the very best in the United States.”
Wills Eye Hospital has provided comprehensive care for patients since 1832 when it was established as the nation’s first hospital specializing exclusively in eye care. As a global leader in ophthalmology, the organization serves more than 350,000 patients each year. Since 1972, Wills Eye has served as the Department of Ophthalmology for Thomas Jefferson University’s medical school and has been nationally recognized for its residency program, which has trained the most ophthalmologists of any program in the country.
“Another year of delivering world-class treatment to patients has earned Wills Eye continued top-tier ranking from U.S. News & World Report,” said Joseph P. Bilson, Chief Executive Officer, Wills Eye Hospital. “I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the dedicated and innovative physicians on our team and their invaluable contributions toward achieving this recognition yet again.”
